EQUIPMENT
Ed's primary cameras are Nikons - Nikon D100 and Nikon 5700 for digital, and
Nikon F100 and F3 for film. A wide range of lenses and flash units allows
for almost any situation.
He also works with alternative types of cameras, including a 4x5 Speed Graphic,
a 1932 Voigtlander 6x9 folding camera, a Canon P rangefinder set up, ZeroImage
4x5 pinhole camera, and the inevitable Holga. Besides the "fun" of old
camera gear, there are some images that require the "feeling" created by older
lenses and films.
While most of his work is end-to-end digital, for special situations, he will
use film and then scan for final processing and printing.
For output, he prints with an Epson 4000 on Arches Infinity papers for fine art
work, and on Epson papers for photojournalism. Other papers are used for
special situations, as are traditional "C" prints from film or digital, as
required.
